Class 317/1 EMU
The Class 317/1 represents the first batch of units built for the St.Pancras to Bedford route in 1983. Following the introduction of the Thameslink stock, these units worked from Euston to Birmingham and also Great Northern Routes from Kings Cross. The simple design of these units has made them reliable workhorses with a 100mph top speed.
Today the class works inter-suburban services from Liverpool Street into Essex, Hertfordshire and Cambridgeshire for Greater Anglia and London Overground.
