Class 317/2 (317/6) EMU

The Class 317/2 was introduced in 1986 for the Great Northern routes from Kings Cross to Peterborough and Cambridge to replace the Class 312 units.

Upon privatisation, the class was refurbished, painted in the attractive WAGN livery and reclassified as Class 317/6.

These sets were replaced on the GN by Networker units and transferred to Greater Anglia for services from Liverpool Street, where they remain today.
