Class 317/7 EMU

The Class 317/7 was a small sub-class of units refurbished in 1995 for the Stansted Express services from Liverpool Street. These were converted from 317/1 units and featured a tidied-up front end, full size hopper windows and high-quality interior. These units worked the service until replaced by the Class 379 in 2011.

The 317/7 was originally introduced by WAGN and passed to Greater Anglia and then to London Overground, where they worked services from Liverpool Street to Enfield and Chingford until 2020 - still with the same posh interior.
