Class 484 2-Car Isle of Wight EMU
Converted from former London Underground D78 vehicles, five Class 484s are being introduced on the Isle of Wight, replacing the venerable 1938 built Class 483 stock. The trains have been fitted with batteries and modern traction equipment and all vehicles refurbished to a very high standard, giving a new-train feel for a fraction of the cost of a new-build.
The kit consists of two bodies, and two dummy chassis and Electra vinyls in the smart SWR Island Line livery.
Before starting, remove the sprue from each part and clean with warm soapy water. White powder may collect in cavities.
The surface texture is slightly rough. However, with a little care, this will look reasonable from normal viewing distance.
Paint with primer, then with suitable top coat. You may wish to use wet and dry paper between coats to help smooth the surface finish.
Your kit will be ready for dispatch within three weeks
