Class 508 3 or 4 Car EMU

The Class 508 units were introduced in 1978 as 4-car sets for suburban services from London Waterloo to Surrey. When replaced by Class 455 units, the 508s were shortened to 3-car sets and moved to Liverpool, where most still work.
The spare trailer car was incorporated into the Class 455/7 EMUs.

Some 508s were transferred to SouthEastern and Silverlink during the 1990s but the majority stayed with MerseyRail and have been refurbished.

These units are still running today for Merseyrail, though replacement is planned from 2019 with new Class 777 EMUs.

The N-Train kit consists of bodyshells, floorpans and Electra Rail Vinyls to complete a 3-car set.
