Mark 3 EPS Generator Coaches

A small batch of Mark 3 Sleepers were converted into Generator coaches in the mid 1990s for the abortive Nightstar project. They were to be used in conjunction with Class 37/6 locomotives to haul overnight trains from Wales and the West of England to London, where electric traction would take over to Paris or Brussels.

The coaches were painted in EPS Railfreight livery and carried a Channel Tunnel roundel plate.

These coaches fell into disuse but some have found new life in preservation. Recently coach 96374 has been painted in Inter-City livery by Eastern Rail Services.

The Electra vinyls will cover any Mark 3 coach but filling in of the windows is recommended for the best finish.
