Southern Region General Manager's Saloon TDB975025
TDB975025 was converted from a Hastings Line DEMU buffer car into a luxurious manager's saloon in 1978. This vehicle found fame in 1981 conveying Prince Charles and Princess Diana after the Royal Wedding and a year later Pope John Paul II.
Originally painted in BR Blue / Grey, it received Network SouthEast livery and could be seen all over the Southern Region conveying senior managers and dignitaries.
In 1999 the coach entered private use and was painted in all-over green and received the name "Caroline", which it retains today. Since 2012, the Southern-type air pipes have been replaced with a more modern control system enabling push-pull working with a variety of motive power, including Class 37s.
The Electra vinyl pack includes bodyside and ends and has been designed to fit the 3D Printed body available via Shapeways. This requires a new-type Graham Farish Mark1 Chassis.
